Who we are

The Moody Groomer is a mobile dog grooming business operated by Alexis Moody and based in Healdsburg, California. You can reach us at (707) 608-4087 or themoodygroomer@gmail.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website or book an appointment, what we do with it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

What we collect

When you send an appointment request through this website, we collect the information you type into the form: your name, your phone number, details about your dog, the service you are interested in, your general area, and any notes you add. The form also asks whether you can take a call straight away and, if not, when suits you better, so we can reach you at a time that works. If you call, text or email us, we keep the contact details you provide so we can respond and manage your appointments. We do not ask for payment details through this website.

How we use it

Sending the form is what lets us get back to you. We use what you give us to reply to your request, agree a time, and carry out the appointment, and that means contacting you by call, text or email to sort it out. We also keep a record of the work done on your dog, because coat condition, temperament and how the last groom went all change how we approach the next one.

Texting

If you give us your mobile number, Alexis may text you about your appointment: confirming a time, letting you know she is on her way, or answering something you asked. These are ordinary one to one messages from a person, not automated marketing, and there is no list you are being added to. Your own carrier's usual message and data rates apply. If you would rather not be texted at all, say so and we will call or email you instead, and if you have had texts and want them to stop, just tell us and they stop. We do not sell or share your mobile number.

Where your information never goes

Booking you in and looking after your dog is the only thing your information is for. We do not use it for anything else, and we never sell it, rent it or trade it. We do not share it with other companies for their own marketing. We do not build a profile of you, run advertising trackers on this website, or add you to a mailing list. The only sharing that happens is what is needed to actually do the work, which means the providers who host this website and handle appointment requests, and anything the law requires of us.

How your request reaches us

The appointment form does not email itself. It is sent over an encrypted connection to the booking system that runs behind this website, which notifies Alexis and keeps the request so it is not lost. That system is operated by the provider who builds and maintains the site for us, under an agreement that they may use the information only to provide that service.

Cookies and website data

This website sets no cookies of its own, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers on it. Like any website, the servers that deliver it keep short term technical logs, which include the address your request came from, your browser and device type and the pages you asked for. Those logs exist to keep the site available and to block attacks, and we do not use them to build a profile of you. The third party services described below set their own cookies under their own policies.

Third party content on our pages

Two things on our pages are loaded from other companies, and in both cases your browser contacts them directly, so they can see your address and basic device information even if you do not interact with them. The map showing the area we cover is an embedded map from a mapping service, and it shows the towns we serve rather than any private address. The typefaces the site is set in are delivered by a web font service. We do not send either of them your name, your phone number or anything you type into the form.

Keeping it safe

The whole site is served over an encrypted connection, and anything you send through the form travels encrypted. Access to appointment records is limited to Alexis and to the provider who maintains the system. The form also carries a hidden field that automated spam tools fill in and people never see, which lets us discard junk submissions without asking you to solve a puzzle. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

How long we keep it

We keep appointment and client records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our business and legal record keeping needs, and then delete or archive them. If you ask us to delete your information and we have no ongoing appointment or legal reason to keep it, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at themoodygroomer@gmail.com or (707) 608-4087. We will not treat you differently for asking. If you have had texts from us and want them to stop, just tell us and they stop. If you would rather we did not use photographs of your dog, send us that in writing by email or text so it goes on your file, and see the Photographs section of our Terms of Service.

Children

Booking a groom is something an adult does, and this site is written and intended for adults. We have no reason to gather information about a child and we do not seek it out. If you think a child in your household has sent us something through the form, tell us and we will take it out of our records.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how appointments are booked or what runs on the website. The current version is always the one posted on this page, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
