Agreement

These terms apply to your use of this website and to grooming services provided by The Moody Groomer, operated by Alexis Moody, Healdsburg, California. By requesting an appointment you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the form, and call us instead so we can talk it through.

Appointment requests

Submitting the form on this website is a request, not a confirmed booking. An appointment is confirmed only once we have spoken with you by phone or text and agreed a date, a time window and a service. We give a time window rather than an exact time, because a mobile round depends on traffic and on how the dogs before yours go.

Service area and travel

We provide mobile grooming within approximately fifteen miles of Healdsburg, California. A $10 travel fee applies to all mobile services. If your location falls outside our usual area we will tell you before confirming an appointment.

Pricing

Prices depend on the service, and on the size, breed, coat type and condition of your dog. Any price quoted before an appointment is an estimate based on the information you have given us. If your dog's coat needs more work than described, we will discuss it with you before we continue, and you can decide how you want to proceed. The one fixed amount is the $10 travel fee, which applies to every mobile service, and every service we offer is mobile.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Please give as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule, because a mobile round is planned around where each dog is. If nobody is there when we arrive, or the dog is not available, we may have to treat the appointment as missed. Repeated missed appointments may affect our ability to offer future bookings. If we ever have to move your appointment, for weather, a vehicle problem or illness, we will tell you as early as we can and offer you the next time we have.

Your responsibilities

You agree to give accurate information about your dog, including age, health conditions, behavior, bite history and any area that should not be handled. This is a safety matter rather than paperwork, because a surprise during a groom is how both dogs and groomers get hurt. You agree to provide a safe and legal place to park and to set up, and to be reachable during the appointment.

Health, safety and matting

Your dog's comfort and safety come first. If we find matting that cannot be brushed out safely, we may need to clip the coat shorter than you expected, and we will explain this to you. Skin that has been under a matted coat can be red or sensitive afterwards, and that can show up once the coat is off rather than before. If we notice something on the skin or elsewhere, we will tell you so you can raise it with your veterinarian. We are groomers, not veterinarians, and nothing we say is veterinary advice. We may stop an appointment at any point if continuing would not be safe for your dog or for us, and we will explain why.

Vaccinations

You are responsible for keeping your dog's vaccinations current in accordance with California law and your veterinarian's advice.

Photographs

We often take before and after photographs, both as a record of the groom and because they are how a grooming portfolio is built. We may use them on this website and on our social media. We never publish your name, your address, or anything else that identifies you or where you live. If you would rather your dog was not photographed, or not shown anywhere, please tell us in writing, by email or text. We ask for it in writing so it goes on your file and stays there, because a request made in passing during a busy appointment is the kind of thing that gets lost, and we would rather not lose yours. You can ask at any point, before or after an appointment, and if a photograph of your dog is already up we will take it down.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still apply.
